Intro to After Effects: Motion Graphic Workflow Tips

Image
Sadly there wasn't that much to go on. Most of the exercise files were to old for the system to handle. The first two lessons that I could do was pretty simple. You can change the object in a scene with another and the animation will still be there. All you do is to select the new object, hold ALT, and drag it to the old object. Finally you can fix the animation by simply moving the tabs down below.    You can also edit one composition and it will be changed in the other composition. If you move one set of objects or add new ones, the composition holding those objects will reprogram and add to the change.

Intro to After Effects: Rendering for Motion Graphics

After you are done, you take your scenes to Render Que and set up where you want it when you're done, and what file it will be.       After that you it render and wait till its done. How long it will take depends the resolution and time of the scenes.

Intro to After Effects: 3D Geometry

Creating a 3D object is pretty simple, all you have to do is make your shape then push a button to get your 3D object.

Intro to After Effects: Basic After Effects 3D

You can add lights and a camera in the scene. Add the lights just right, you make it look exciting or spooky. With cameras, you can easily animate it by add one frame to it, then moving it to another frame for a rotation.         You can add effects to the shapes or objects to their shadows. You can make a metal, shiny or simple default shadows. You can move the compositions just right to make that one objects can have a shadow while the other doesn't.       You add a null to a group of objects to easily move it. Just put the null in the place you want, select all the objects, parent it to the parents. So after you can move it as you please.        You can also attach a camera to a null object. Once you parent them together, if you move the null, the camera will follow the path.

Intro to After Effects: Working with Type

Not only can you make shapes in AE, you create text as well. You change their size, font, how their spaced out, or if they have bolds or not.         You can also add effects to the texts, you make appear or disappear anyway you want them too. You can make them fade in, pop in, move into place, or simply take in the next scene.         You can also create text and morph them following a shape. All you have to do is create a mask and parent it to them.

Intro to After Affects: Working with Compositions

One thing you can do with layers is to add modes to them to make it look like a scary or exciting scenes. You can add a blending tool to give it a fog felling. A overlay so your text will have the right opacity for your scenes. You can create stencils for your background or texts. Finally you can add light to it to the scene.          Making masks in your layers will help your scenes pop out a little bit more. When you make a mask, you can either make a mask to help display it or hide it for a time being.        Finally you can add effects to it. After making your animations. You can go to effects and add wacky kinks to it. For example: Gaussian Blur

Intro to After Effects: Working With Animation

Animating in After Effects is quite easy when you understand the tools. One way is that you can add a main keyframe, then you can add your final main keyframe. Once you find your Inbetween, you easily move the frame, then edit the movement to the way you want it too.           After you figured out where you want to shape move, you edit the speed and flow of it using the graph editor. Using the graph editor is like the editor in Maya. All you have to do is to set the frames to move slow or fast based on the position of the graph.          After doing all that, you can also edit your animations on your windows tab. You can move the compositions in the tab by sliding around the tabs, the keyframes, or even delaying the frames by the amount you want.        One thing that can help you set up your animations by using their anchor points. The points are there to move and rotate yo...

Intro to After Effects: Working with Shape Layer

Image
The first process was to teach us how to create a shape in After Effects and how easily we move it around. Both using a mouse and animating it.          Then they show us how to create a path tool, with a path tool, you can make a stick then morph it into the way you want it. How easily you can copy and rotate objects, like the petals.          The other bright side of path tools is that you can animate it easily from the bottom to the top. You can also separate animations on the same shape: for instance the petals and it's borders.         Finally, they teach you how to morph the shapes into the way you want it. One way is you can is first to select the shape so when you make a new shape, you create a mask. A mask can either subtract part of the shape or hide it for the time being. You can add attachments to them by clicking on the add button. For example Zig Zag and Wiggle. A bon...
